Requirements
Under the Fire Safety Order 2005, all premises where persons are employed to work or members of the public may visit (for payment or otherwise), are now required to carry out a Fire Risk Assessment. As part of that assessment, the "responsible person" has to ensure that there are preventative and protective measures within the building for the safety of the occupiers or visitors.
"Protective measures" include determining the number of fire compartments within the premises, which will include the location and number of fire doors required. This will ensure that occupiers or visitors will be able to escape from fire via a protected means of escape route. Normally, this is of a 30-minute fire-resisting standard.
All our fire doors are supplied with the following:
- British Standard 476 Part 22 Fire Door, either 30 or 60-minutes
- British Standard Kite Mark
- Self-closing device
- Fire handles
- Combined heat and cold smoke seals
- 3 fire hinges
- Signage
- Fire-resisting glazing where appropriate
- 12-months manufacturer's guarantee
All doors supplied are certified by the British Woodworking Foundation (BWF) as to their standard and quality. This is not always the case with all fire door suppliers.
At your request, we will carry out a full Fire Door Survey, which will determine the location and type of door within your premises to ensure that you are legally compliant with current fire safety regulations.
