Your Legal Obligations
Under current fire safety legislation issued in 2006, any premises where persons are employed to work or members of the public visit, must have "preventative" and "protective" measures in place. "These measures" include determining the number of fire compartments within the building, which may also include the location and number of fire doors required. This will ensure that occupiers and/or visitors will be able to escape from fire via a protected means of escape route protected by fire resisting materials and doors.
Regular maintenance of fire doors is also required, which will ensure all escape routes are maintained in a safe condition.
All our fire doors are supplied with the following:
- British Standard kite mark
- British Woodworking Foundation Certificate
- BS Self-closing device
- BS Fire handles
- Combined heat and cold smoke seals
- BS hinges x 3
- BS Signage
- BS Glazed Vision Panels (if required)
- 12-months manufacturer's guarantee and a "Just Fire Doors" installation certificate
NOTE: All doors supplied are certified by the British Woodworking Foundation (BWF) as to their standard and quality. This is not always the case with fire door suppliers.
See our Services page for more information on fire doors locations required.
